Zhejiang Zhongyu Technology Co., Ltd. has introduced a new type of Dynamic Grating In-Mold Label, designed to bring more interactive visual effects to plastic packaging.
Unlike conventional in-mold labels that display a fixed printed image, this new IML solution can show different visual content through the movement of an additional grating film.
The printed IML label is applied to the plastic container during the molding process. A specially designed grating film is then used together with the finished product.
When the grating film is moved or rotated in front of the cup, different parts of the printed image become visible.
The interesting part is: the cup itself does not need to move. The user only needs to move the grating film to reveal different images or visual effects. This creates a simple but highly engaging packaging experience.
The Dynamic Grating IML system consists of two main parts:
· A specially designed in-mold label. The printed design contains precisely arranged graphic information and fine line patterns, and the label is integrated directly into the plastic container during the molding process.
· An additional grating film. A separate grating film is placed in front of the printed surface. When the film is moved, rotated or repositioned, the grating structure interacts with the printed pattern underneath, allowing different images to appear at different positions.
For example, one cup can display several different graphics or visual stages without changing the cup itself. This makes the packaging feel more dynamic and interactive than a traditional printed label.

Traditional packaging mainly communicates information through static graphics. Dynamic Grating In-Mold Labels add another layer of interaction. Consumers can physically interact with the packaging by moving the grating sheet and discovering different images.
